Crown of Thorns Starfish
A new study found that the Crown of Thorns Starfish (CoTS), which unprecedentedly feed on corals in the Great Barrier Reef, may be dealt with using a common kitchen staple, vinegar.
Researchers from James Cook University have reached a breakthrough in solving this problem by injecting vinegar to two separate groups of CoTS from Kimbe Bay and Lizard Island in Great Barrier Reef, Australia.

NZ Soldiers Help Build New Road
The New Zealand Defence Force is helping the PNG Defence Force to build a new 350 kilometre road linking Mount Hagen and Madang. For the past month a 20 strong contingent of New Zealand army engineers and tradespeople has been mentoring PNG soldiers in road building techniques.

O'Neill Visits Hela
Prime Minister Peter O'Neill was given a red carpet welcome and a guard of honour at Tari airport when he arrived in Hela Province for a two-day visit to the province. It was the first visit by a prime minister to the new province that O'Neill's own government had stamped the final seal of approval to in 2012.

Visas For Pacific Islands Countries
PNG will relax its travel visas and work permits regulations for Pacific Islanders coming to visit and work in the country. Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, said the people of the Federal State of Micronesia travelling to PNG will be granted visas on arrival while work permits will not be required for those who want to come and work in PNG.
